Wood is an ancient material which, in these last few years, has been rediscovered and revalued in construction industry. Its characteristics make it the ideal material to make buildings. Wood originates and grows in nature, it is ecological from its birth to its disposal. It lasts a long time, because its natural breathability and the specific treatments given to beams prevent the formation of mould, moss and insects. Wood has a high seismic resistance due to its qualities of ductility, lightness and solidity. Its limited thermal conductivity and the carbonization of its surface in case of fire make it the most suitable material for building, as a wooden house does not collapse, but it keeps its frame intact for a predetermined period of time. Being wood an excellent acoustic and thermal insulator, it allows a high energy saving (up to 40%) for the benefit of the environment. The economic advantage of a wooden building emerges in the construction timetable, laying, and assembly (2 – 3 weeks for a detached / semi-detached house). All costs are evaluated, approved and respected together with the customer, since everything is planned in detail. The customer will daily experience the advantage of energy saving, living in their wooden house.
