Blower door test
Blower Door Test is a scientific method for checking and quantifying air (and wind) tightness in a wooden building. It is performed according to UNI EN 13829:2002 regulations in order to gain the energy class certification by KlimaHaus and PassivHaus. In fact, modern protocols of certification require this test as a guarantee for the performance level of a building.
Through this simple non-invasive analysis, which implies surveys with air pressure gauges or infrared cameras, special technicians detect possible critical points in the building envelop and assess the amount of air changed with the external environment due to a difference of pressure between the inside and the outside.
